    Verdict

    Metallo beat a subsequent winner at Salisbury three runs ago and has kept better company since. Despite a big weight, he is not out of this. Dark Encounter clearly relished the step up to a mile when well backed at Newcastle and may not have finished improving yet but is penalised and will be a short price in what may end up a tactical race. Shadan Joy found only one too good in her first two starts but I’M PUZZLED could be the value. His pedigree is stamina-packed and he’s done nothing but improve so far.
