In depth

Verdict

Mutajammel, Golden Fury and Luis Melendez are three against the field in this open maiden with the vote going to Mutajammel. The selection was an expensive purchase and this colt from the Sir Michael Stoute seemed to be getting the hang of things on his debut when eventually finishing fourth behind The Coires after a tardy start. He is sure to come on for that run and should be capable of losing his maiden tag at the second attempt. Golden Fury has shown promise on all of his three runs to date so he is the one likely to give our selection the most to do. However, he shaped as though he might be suited by slightly further last time and for that reason he is passed over. Luis Melendez made a pleasing debut behind Kharish at Kempton but his action suggested that he would be better with some cut in the ground so he looks worth opposing on this occasion. It would be a surprise if any of the others were capable of making the frame, and we will stick with Mutajammel who looks the one they all have to beat.
