Verdict

LAZULI completed a fast-ground double last summer before not beaten far in a Newmarket Group 3. He started favourite on a return visit last week but couldn't quite concede 13lb to Smokey Bear. Sunday Sovereign won easily at the Curragh and Tipperary for Paddy Twomey early last summer and started a short-priced favourite for the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot but pulled too hard. He's been bought by King Power and joined Roger Varian. Al Raya made all to land a Group 3 at Chantilly in August but the placed horses haven't done much for the form. Dream Shot looks a serious contender after a fine run in a 6f Group 3 at Newcastle. He improved steadily last summer and this stiff 5f should play to his strengths.
