Warren Greatrex had the winner of this in 2010 and 2011 and will be hoping that Jackson Hill can go one better than at Ballinrobe in April when trained by Ellemarie Holden. Huntsmans Jog was also second on debut, at Warwick in May, while The Raven's Return showed promise at Ascot around this time last year before running poorly in a Listed race on the same track. Thunderstruck won a maiden point in May and Smarty Wild is a newcomer to note being a half-brother to a winner on the Flat. GOLDEN TAIPAN can give Fergal O’Brien back-to-back victories in this as he showed promise between the flags and his proven stamina will be an asset if the rain has got into the ground.
