Rectory Road recorded a first victory on Turf here 11 days ago but may struggle under a penalty against some fast-improving three-year-olds. Dubai Mirage was hampered by a low draw in the Britannia Handicap and was impressive in this grade at Haydock next time. He’s been raised a massive 10lb but is clearly a useful performer, though RAAEQ (NAP) should give him a run for his money. Brian Meehan’s colt was still showing signs of inexperience when beaten by another Godolphin runner, First Winter, here last month. That was solid form, as was his Newbury novice win a year ago, and he is learning all the time so a 2lb rise may be generous. Campari failed to give his true running at Ascot last time and may well bounce back while Yes My Boy gets cheekpieces though has a bit to find with Dubai Mirage on Haydock running. Mon Choix is probably in the handicapper’s grip now.
