Jewel In The Sand holds solid claims if fit enough for his reappearance but may struggle under his penalty first time out and preference is for Potent Heir, who won his maiden in good fashion last term and is taken to make a winning return at the main expense of Resplendent Glory. The last mentioned has a progressive profile having won four of his five starts but this represents a step up in class for the Terry Mills-trained gelding and he may not be up to it. Dance Night has claims on the pick of his juvenile form and has to be respected but is another that may be sharper for the run and of more interest may be Mick Channon's Yajbil, who is surely better than he showed at Newbury last time. The William Haggas-trained Sharplaw Star and Roger Charlton's undefeated Pike Bishop are others to consider first time out but preference is for Potent Heir, who created a favourable impression at Newcastle in a race that has worked out well and he is taken to make up for lost time.
