Verdict

RATHLIN ROSE and Captain Guy Disney completed the historic Royal Artillery/Grand Military Gold Cup double last year and are halfway to repeating that feat having scored over course and distance three weeks ago, beating Midnight Monty, Spanish Arch and Sentimentaljourney in the process. David Pipe’s 10-year-old clearly loves the stiff fences and uphill finish here and it’s hard to see any of those behind getting much closer today. The novice Baden may be the danger as he’s the least exposed, though fellow grey Knockanrawley has been placed several times in decent company since last winning back in 2014. More Buck's looked a nice prospect back in 2016 but he’s been lightly-raced since and hasn’t really progressed – he is also making his seasonal reappearance today.
