Our Vic is the possible fly in the handicapping ointment here and holds chances, along with Never, Monkerhostin, Mistanoora, Yogi, Isio, Overstrand and Cotopaxi but we'll go for East Tycoon. Hey, this is a good race and it should pay to keep a close eye on how the listed horses run. Going through the field. Our Vic is unbeaten in three starts and, while the handicapper has taken no chances in alotting him a rating of 140, he has to be respected. Never can be described as a handicapper with a turn of foot, which makes him dangerous, and he can run well when fresh too. Starzaan developed into a useful novice hurdler in the spring, finishing fourth in Grade 1 events at Aintree and Leopardstown in his last two starts respectively. However, a mark of 138 wont make life easy. Monkerhostin is useful on his day but has been raised six pounds for a Newbury reappearance win, which means he requires a career-best effort to score although, as a six-year-old, he should have more to come. Mistanoora was also a useful novice and scored readily when returning at Cheltenham this season, but has been beaten off a revised mark subsequently. However, his useful rider claims five pounds which, if factored in, means he is racing from a mark only two-pounds higher than when he scored at Cheltenham. Irish raider Yogi has won six of his last 10 races and has done connections proud. Can he keep on improving? That's the $64,000 dollar question. Nicky Henderson's Isio did well over fences last season but can be given a chance on his hurdling form that preceded that. Cotopaxi might have been found out by the trip as much as the weight rise when beaten last time and could yet spring a surprise but The Biker looks to be handicapped about right, if maybe a little highly. East Tycoon also has to be respected given that he has had a run this season and the drop in trip could suit him too His trainer also feels that good or better going suits him best. Overstrand comes here on the back of three straight wins and certainly has a progressive profile. He too could be interesting. Irish raider Aye Aye Popeye and Fortune Island both have headgear on for the first time today, but improvement is needed from both, while Another Dude did well last season but this is a different kettle of fish. That said, his trainer comes here in great form, having saddled two winners on Sandown's Friday card. It's a tricky but, as we say, very good race. Where did the pin land? With East Tycoon, who has blinkers fitted for the first time since his last win.
