In depth

Verdict

Edgardo Sol looks to be on an upward curve but has been raised 12lb since winning at Cheltenham. Enfant Du Lune profited from an enterprising ride by Conor O'Farrell here last time and may find this opposition a bit tougher to master while Ubi Ace has more to do off a 10lb higher mark than when winning at Wetherby three weeks ago and it would be no surprise if staying-on fifth European Dream reversed that form on this stiffer track. French raider Mister No has won six of his 15 hurdle races but rarely shines away from Lyon Parilly, while Via Galilei still looks too high in the weights and Alasi was favoured by the weights in a mares' hurdle at Wetherby, though the runner-up has franked the form since. GIBB RIVER couldn't match the speed of the principals in last season's Supreme Novices' Hurdle but wasn't disgraced and will enjoy the good ground and uphill finish here. With David Bass taking off 3lb, he may just be good enough to make a winning reappearance in his first handicap.
