    Verdict

All Star may prove to be the answer in the hardest race of the day to call, with the likes of Victram, Medison, Daryal and Tramantano all worth a mention at least. Most of these have been readied for an assault on this competitive handicap with satisfactory prep runs, but three of the 19 declared runners have already visited the winner's enclosure of late including All Star who bolted up to the tune of 15 lengths at Huntingdon. He hardly knew he had a race that day, and must surely go close despite a 12lb penalty. Irish raider Victram will be a popular choice as well on his return to hurdling. He has been in impressive on the Flat, and could be chucked in off a mark of 112. Martin Pipe is mob-handed, so the market may be a guide, but on last season's form, Medison must be a leading candidate, having emptied the bookies' satchels when landing the Imperial Cup over the course and distance last March, with All Star back in sixth. If fit enough, he is very interesting indeed. Daryal goes well on a right-handed track and his Leicester victory revealed him to be in good fettle on his return, while Tramantano deserves a mention for chasing home Lingo at Cheltenham on what was his first sight of a racecourse in two years. Gary Moore has three entries, with son Jamie on Verasi who is yet another to consider, so it is more in hope than optimism that All Star is taken to come out on top.
