Verdict

Hatsaway won this last year but is 9lb higher. Sternrubin would be giving lumps of weight to Pleasure Dome, Ardamir and Glaring were this a hurdle race so the Goodwood third, who won at Windsor last month, is much respected but Pastoral Music has only won an all-weather maiden so far. Rosa Damascena is still relatively unexposed and Cotton Club won over 1m4f here two weeks ago, though wouldn’t want much rain. The softer the ground the better for Buckle Street, however, who might be well treated. SWASHBUCKLE finished ahead of Hatsaway at Ascot last month and wasn’t beaten far in a Class 2 event at Haydock subsequently, despite only beating one home – this might be his optimum trip.
