Strikeen and New Light are two newcomers from stables in form so need to be watched closely in the betting, but on this occasion we will stick with experience and side with Coeur de Lionne. Roger Charlton's colt improved on his debut run to chase home Brainy Benny. Both his runs to date have been on the all-weather but if he shows the same aptitude on the turf he will prove hard to beat. The Terry Mills trained Strikeen is a well bred son Intikhab that cost 21 thousand euros as a yearling. He will not have to be anythiong special to win a race of this nature. The same applie to the Fulke Johnson-Houghton runner New Light who is a daughter of Generous. Sir Michael Stoute's entry Spume has shown little to date but is open to improvement. All in all a weak looking race and Coeur de Lionne should be good enough to land the spoils.
