Voice Mail, Hatch A Plan and Cape Diamond all look short list material here but we will plump for Henchman off a much more realistic mark. The selection has dropped 10lb just lately and also has a further 5lb to come off his back courtesy of his claimer Andrew Elliott who partners him for the first time. The gelding's latest effort at Lingfield over this sort of trip would give him a definite chance here, especially off his revised mark, he is bred to relish the distance and should go okay on the ground, so at a sporting price we will side with him. Voice Mail is more than capable of gonig well from today's mark of 67 and is already a distance winner, so he has a fair bit in his favour. However, he keeps finding a couple too good and his racing weight won't make this easy, so we will oppose. Hatch A Plan was a a 12f Windsor scorer last time and attempts to go in again two days later without a penalty. He is clearly in good heart, but this drop back in trip will test his speed to the limit and he may be found wanting. Of the others, Walter Swinburn's Cape Diamond showed that this trip holds no fears with a decent run at Windsor last time and a 1lb drop will help this lightly-raced sort, who could certainly improve, but we prefer to side with Henchman.
