PIPERS PIPING gets a tentative nomination ahead of Taurus Twins and Song Of Praise in this wide open contest. Auld Arty is also worthy of consideration. Even though he has the burden of top weight, the last named has been given a chance by the handicapper and this versatile gelding should not be underestimated. The switch to turf can bring about some improvement and he has sound claims of at least making the frame. Song Of Praise is in good form and may have more to offer despite racing from a 3lb higher mark than for her close second at Kempton last month. However, her best effort on turf have been when there is plenty of give underfoot, so she needs to prove she handles the ground. Taurus Twins goes well for Robert Winston and is still on a feasibly attractive mark. This is a bit tougher then her all-weather exploits and she also needs to conclusively prove herself capable on a stiff track. However, with all things considered it's Pipers Piping that gets the nod today. Jamie Osborne's lightly-raced colt has shown stacks of ability at three of the AW courses and, as he has bags of room for further progress from a paltry looking mark of 65; Pipers Piping is forwarded as a solid option here.
