Elegant Erin won a maiden over track and trip last month and the runner-up has won since. He’s preferred to stable companion King's View and fellow handicap debutants Mellad, Goodwood Rebel and Masaakin. Royal Ambition opened his account with a handicap success over 6f at Lingfield but is 4lb higher and QAADDIM was given plenty to do at Goodwood on his first start handicapping before staying on well for second. Dropping down a grade for this, Roger Varian’s colt gets another chance.
