Hunter's Valley ran as though in need of his return to the track this year but, for us, looks to have the best overall form in a race that lacks strength in depth so he gets the vote over Called Up and, possibly Tromp and Camberwell. The selection is quite nicely bred and showed a lot of promise at two, not least when second to Danclare at Kempton. As we say, this race seems to lack strength so a return to somewhere near that level of form would give him a very good chance. Called Up has suggested in each of his runs so far that today's trip might suit him, while Camberwell is one to look out for in the betting. Iltravitore was disappointing on his debut, where he finished just behind Pure Imagination, but Denis Coakley paid 52,000 guineas for Tromp, so the market should be watched with a deal of interest with regard to his chances. Overall, though, the choice is Hunter's Valley.
