      Verdict

      With the stable firing them in from all angles, Hannicean gets the nomination ahead of Gremlin and Gunner's View. A winner when last seen at Nottingham, the selection managed to battle back after being headed; a trait that surely stands him in good stead for his future career. This trip isn't an obvious one on breeding but he appears to stay well and with the ground again to suit, he looks worth siding with. Gremlin continued to hit the woodwork last year, however he put in some grand performances and looks sure to feature today as he goes well fresh judging from his debut. Opera Crown has trip and conditions to suit once again and warrants plenty of respect from this mark of 77. Gunner's View disappointed last time out at Beverley when he didn't appear to stay so it remains to be seen whether this step up in trip will suit, however it should suit Sweetheart so he could go well at a price. A tough affair, but Hannicean gets the nod.
