With the stoutly bred newcomer Plovers Lane likely to need more time, this is probably best left to those with experience and Alshawameq gets the vote over Just Tim and In Deep. The last mentioned is trained by Nerys Dutfield and should appreciate the return to this grade having been outclassed in the May Hill Stakes last time. She has to be respected but lacks the scope of one or two of her opponents and preference is for Alshawameq. John Dunlop's colt was well held on his Leicester debut. However, that was a better race than this and, having looked green there, he should improve for the experience. The son of Green Desert is preferred to Richard Hannon's Just Time. Mick Channon's once raced The Stick and Red Rag from the in-form Jamie Osborne stable are others worthy of a mention but Alshawameq makes plenty of appeal in a poor race and gets the verdict.
