Kentmere has the scope to beat Apex in what has the look of a two horse race on paper, with Raging Mind perhaps best of the rest for a place. Mark Johnston has a good record with his juveniles, and as they normally come on for a run or two, now looks the time to support Kentmere. The son of Efisio ran green behind the odds-on Imperial Echo at Ayr and then made Kibryaa pull out all the stops at Musselburgh. Given that he stayed on strongly, that day, it is a little surprising to see him dropped back to six furlongs here, but even so he has done enough to warrant the vote. Coincidentally, his main rival Apex is also a son of Efisio and has been kept busy, having had four starts already. He has not shaped badly but has had more chances than the selection, and looks booked for second best again. Raging Mind encountered soft ground on her Haydock debut and will come on for the run. It is too early to gauge her talent on the outing though and she is best watched. Lapdancing should strip fitter for her introduction if you'll pardon the pun, and we return to Kentmere as the one to be on.
