It was soft going when Nice Vintage beat Uno Voce by three lengths at Clonmel and Pat Smullen's mount has an 8lb higher mark to overcome here. Chaplin Bay now sports cheekpieces and could be interesting going handicapping for the first time and he's preferred to stablemate Lucie Rie while Lake Champlain also goes on the short-list. But PAT HARKIN has improved this year and, despite climbing the weights without winning, it could be his turn today. Acid has also been running well but it remains to be seen how he handles this quicker surface.
