Not the easiest of starts for punters. New River seems to have gone backwards though she has run well on fast ground in the past and Never Complain's victory between the flags came on heavy going. DAWERANN and King William both ran well behind Ebazan at Ballinrobe when Baby Grey disappointed. The former is becoming difficult to win with but he was only half-a-length behind and the quicker ground here may enable him to finally get off the mark. King William is entitled to make progress as is Theboss On Thehill, who also ran well in a handicap at the same meeting. Strategic Bid made great strides to finish close behind Starkie at Cork but that was in December and he may just need this to put him straight.
