Verdict

El Salvador drops to 1m4f for the first time since landing a Dundalk maiden in February. He was a commendable sixth in Estimate's Ascot Gold Cup and has since been a staying-on fourth behind stable companion Ernest Hemingway at the Curragh in Group 3 company. He's the class act here but the drop in trip is a concern. MISSUNITED has been a fine dual purpose performer for Michael Winters and ran up to her mark last time when second to the highly-progressive Pale Mimosa. The trip is a little on the short side for her too but it may suit better than for many of her rivals. Opera Gloves, Bunairgead, Majenta and Love And Cherish were second, third, sixth and seventh behind Venus De Milo at Leopardstown with the Bolger charge making most appeal of the quartet over this longer trip. Qewy is up in grade from an easy Navan maiden win but John Oxx is not one to tilt at windmills.
