This looks to be a very competitive mares maiden hurdle with six bumper winners facing the starter. Thynetocatcher impressed at Gowran in the spring and was taking on smart opposition at Aintree last time. Pharney Lady finished just ahead of Marble Article at Wexford last month and the pair re-oppose on the same terms on their first start over timber, while Sligo winner Madam Bovary looks the type to do well over hurdles having already won a point-to-point. BLOSSOM GATE may have her measure today, however, as she ran a cracker behind Saturday's Kilternan Stakes winner Galileo's Choice in a Flat race at Killarney last month after gaining back-to-back wins in bumpers in July at Cork and Galway. John Kiely's charge may have too much speed for these if her jumping holds up.
