In depth

Verdict

Seven Year Itch stands out off the page here and we will take Marcus Tregoning's colt to beat Mutasallil, Roman Forum and Wou Oodd. Seven Year Itch is blinkered for the first time here and after problems with tail swishing and hanging last time, that can straighten him out. He has not been beaten far into second on either of those occasions and can get it right this time around. Mutasallil has not been seen since comfortably beaten at Nad Al Sheba last year, but stayed on there and is presumably over any problems he may have had. Naturally he may need the run, but he is a rare Godolphin runner here and merits plenty of respect. Roman Forum is related to Ulundi and should love this fast ground for his debut. Henry Cecil has an enviable record here and any market confidence could be significant for this debutante by Selkirk. Meanwhile Wou Oodd will be no back number judged on a staying on fourth at Salisbury a fortnight ago. He gets the trip well and can improve here, and with his yard now hitting the mark he won't be far away, but we will stick with Seven Year Itch to finish things off in style.
