Taaresh ran a promising race on his debut at Sandown when chasing home Visions Of Johanna and he looks to be the one they all have to beat on that evidence but John Dunlop's colt would not necessarily want any further softening of the ground so backers should be wary of the surface; however, he is hard to oppose and gets the vote over Drumadoon Bay and Cozy Tiger. The last mentioned ran well on his first two starts prior to disappointing at Great Leighs last time and he looks best watched after that effort. Top Tribute is a speedily bred newcomer from Chris Wall's yard, while Karl Burke's Arikinui should be better suited by the trip today but neither is really bred to handle the underfoot conditions. Proficiency would need to improve on his debut effort to trouble the judge and of more interest may be the ex-Irish Drumadoon Bay, who makes his debut for Alan Swinbank. Taaresh has an obvious chance though and is hard to oppose provided that the ground does not become any more testing.
