    Verdict

Hazelrigg is less exposed than most of these after just four starts and has to be respected but Tim Easterby's gelding has harshly been raised 2lbs since his latest start and preference is for Errigal Lad, who gets the vote with Moonage Daydream rated the pick of the remainder. The selection has run better in his last two starts, both on a soft surface, and Kevin Ryan's gelding can race off a 1lb lower mark than when narrowly beaten at Newbury last time so he looks to have solid claims. Karl Burke's Baldemar is capable of taking a hand in the finish on the pick of his form and does handle cut in the ground but he could probably do with some help from the handicapper. Mey Blossom looks to similarly be too high in the weights and a bigger danger is likely to come from Tim Easterby's recent Redcar winner Moonage Daydream, although a 3lb rise for that success leaves him with more to do here. This is a competitive contest but one that is taken to go to Errigal Lad.
