Luca Cumani introduces a half-brother to the useful Boreas in the shape of Mandatum, who warrants respect, but will need to be pretty good himself to get the better of Force Of Nature, who is preferred to Act of The Pace. The last mentioned is well bred but has given little sign of encouragement in two starts so far and may need more time. Bumper winner Farne Isle is still a maiden over hurdles after eight starts and was well beaten on his flat debut at Haydock earlier this month. Geoff Harker's five-year-old is unlikely to provide much of a threat to Force Of Nature, who should take all of the beating. Henry Cecil's filly did not see the racecourse as a juvenile but made an encouraging debut last term when second in a Kempton maiden. The daughter of Sadler's Wells put a disappointing reappearance effort behind her when finding just Tarrandot too good in a York maiden last month and, with further improvement to come from this well bred filly, she looks the one to be on.
