Catherine Howard is put forward as the tentative choice here with Etmaam, Alfonso and Granston the best of the rest. The selection from the Mick Channon yard made a promising racecourse debut last season when defeating Bee Minor over 6 furlongs. She is a nice big scopey filly who will relish the step up in trip and she would be a confident choice if her yard was firing on all cylinders. Etmaam is the big danger as he is another that shaped as though he would be suited by the step up in trip when running out an impressive winner over Henndey at Newcastle last time. He will have conditions to suit and he looks as though he could be capable of pushing our selection all the way. Alfonso won well on the AW last time and could be interesting now that he returns to the turf, while Granston is more exposed than most in the field but would have chances on the pick of his form. This is a difficult race for punters to call, but for the winner we will nominate Catherine Howard.
