    Verdict

    William Dewhirst, beaten a nose at Pontefract, was engaged in the 6.40 at Thirsk last night. TALHA couldn't get close to the short-priced Royal Dress at Doncaster but had the remainder well beaten and can go one better. Tawalla was always in the front rank over 5f at Catterick but still looked green and the winner looks useful. Harriet's Angel took some time to warm up at Wolverhampton but was going on at the finish and her allowance should aid her cause.
