Verdict

Lamloom has never raced over a trip this far but there was no sign of him stopping when making all for an easy victory at Pontefract last week and a 6lb penalty shouldn't prove too much of a burden. Mooltazem won a maiden on this card a year ago and has returned to his best, scoring narrowly at Haydock and Ayr. The assessor has been unable to raise him by too much and he should make a bold bid to complete a hat-trick. However, MIKMAK beat him a neck over the course and distance a month ago when receiving 5lb and Tim Easterby's charge gets 12lb here so will be very difficult to beat. Mulligatawny has won here and finished second in the race a year ago. He wasn't beaten far in the race won by the selection here and has a weight pull so has to be a threat. Thomas Cranmer won over a mile at Wetherby before a fair run from his new mark at York though he's never been this far.
