Verdict

This looks a tricky race despite the low turn out with question marks against all four. Sanbenito has some useful form having landed a Pontefract maiden first time out before finishing a close second behind the useful Checkit in a minor event on a return visit in May. Lynda Ramsden's charge again finished runner-up on his next start in a valuable contest at Beverley before disappointing on softish ground last time so has something to prove in the prevailing conditions. Lakelands Lady caused a shock when making a winning bow at Notttingham and should not be underestimated despite the rise in class but African Spur has more to find after landing a seller last time. Shingles makes plenty of appeal on breeding being a half-brother to the mudloving Border Arrow amongst others and should be closely monitored in the market for further clues.
