Verdict

A modest race were Mr Lear is taken to shine at the main expense of Own Line, Distant Cousin and Dalblair. The David Barron-trained selection is holding his form well at present and acts well at the north Yorkshire course. He does have a 5lb higher mark to overcome for his victory here from last month. But the step up to twelve furlongs should aid his cause today. Richard Hughes is an eye-catching jockey booking and the partnership will be difficult to overhaul if a prominent position can be gained early from a favourable draw for the trip.
