      Verdict

      ASCOT DAY has been in better form that his rivals and the form of his latest second at Chepstow was franked when the winner was just beaten at Wolverhampton last week. Act Of Magic hasn’t won on Turf in more than two years but is still preferred to Firewater, though Richard Fahey’s gelding was second twice off this mark around this time last year. Sudona is slipping down the weights but has disappointed the last twice.
