Hamalka gets the vote in this maiden with Zakhaaref and La Fortalesa put forward as the main dangers. The selection has shown plenty of promise in each of her three runs to date and she was a clear second behind the useful Bellomi last time out. That was a good run and if she can reproduce it here on ground that will suit then she should be hard to beat. Zakhaaref shaped with plenty of promise on his debut over this course and distance when he gave the impression that he would be better for the experience. He will be better over further in time but he certainly looks the type who could be capable of making his mark in this company. La Fortalesa catches the eye on breeding and this colt from the Kevin Ryan yard makes plenty of appeal on his racecourse debut, especially if the market speaks in his favour. Points of View and Red Tarn are other newcomers to consider, but for the winner we are happy to stick with the progressive Hamalka.
