    Verdict

    This looks a bit of a shocker but Bentons Lad did finish ahead of Major Rowan when second to Kirkman over 2m at Beverley, though was still beaten six lengths. SOIREE D'ETE wouldn't be the first Sir Mark Prescott three-year-old to benefit from a big step up in trip so gets the vote on that basis ahead of Modify, who was sent off favourite at Nottingham eight days ago. Two B's and Crakehall Lad are both eased in grade but haven't shown a great deal this year.
