Awaken can complete a hat-trick here, with Leighton Buzzard, Thornaby Green and Authenticate expected to figure prominently. Quite a few of these have place claims at least, but Awaken has been in sparkling form of late, and we see no reason to desert Tracy Waggot's mare now. The five-year-old has gained back-to-back victories in claimers at Carlisle and Hamilton in recent weeks, and was not inconvenienced by a step up in trip on the latest occasion. She is very adaptable, and so the switch back to nine furlongs will not be a disadvantage, and she should have the race run to suit as she tackles slightly stronger company. Leighton Buzzard stayed on when a close second over a mile at Ripon and should go well despite topweight, while Thornaby Green was well held by Defi at Hamilton but is fairly weighted here and can again go well. Eoghan O'Neill has his string in fine fettle at present so Authenticate could easily improve on what he showed on his Leicester return. All in all, it looks quite open, but the in-form Awaken can find the necessary improvement to go in again.
