      Verdict

      Velvet Vision won over today’s trip at Newcastle in March but is penalised along with SHOWROOM. The latter makes his seasonal debut but returned an impressive five-length winner at Goodwood in September on his racecourse debut and this extra distance should suit Mark Johnston’s colt. Vampish showed a big improvement when fourth at Ripon last time while the Godolphin newcomer Ice Pyramid is half-brother to a winner in France and is one to keep an eye on in the betting.
