In depth

Verdict

Though Pontefract is a stiff track, Magical Effect clearly found 6f too short there last week. He is 7lb higher now but it would be no surprise if he went one better here. Athollblair Boy has raced mainly only 6f this year but does stay this extra furlong whereas Kilconquhar and Hurt You Never are best over sprint distances. Key Look has been in the form of her life at Catterick so demands respect but KINGOFHELL (NAP) ran better than the final result suggests at Newbury last month so a further drop in the ratings is a plus.
