Few of these handicappers are in the best of form, and it may be worth taking a chance on the unexposed Aimee Vibert. Walter Swinburn's filly has just had the three runs and was doing all her best work at the finish when third over a mile at Warwick. She is bred to stay a good deal further and over a mile and a quarter for the first time on her handicap debut, she looks like a decent bet here. Of her opponents, Trouble Mountain should appreciate these conditions and has slipped to a fair mark, so is an interesting contender if he can return to something like his best form. Bright Sun won over nine furlongs here and remains on a fair mark, while Jacaranda fared well when third at Leicester last time but gives the impression he is still a pound or two high in the weights. Slavonic is a consistent sort but possibly better over shorter than this, while Danceinthevalley has been in progressive form this year and blew his chance with a slow start at Pontefract last time, so he could be a bigger danger, especially as champion elect Jamie Spencer has been booked for the ride. Fairlie got up in the shadow of the post to score at Newcastle last time, but this is a harder race and Keith Reveley's filly may struggle to follow up, so our vote goes to Aimee Vibert.
