    Verdict

A trappy affair in which the in-form Fahey team look to have strong claims with Blythe Spirit. Dropped back to 7f today, the horse is no world beater but he is a battler and he should be capable of taking a hand in the finish. Shoof has been very disappointing in maiden company and has questions to answer. Balakiref performed creditably to be fourth to Rapscallion on heavy ground last season but his recent form on faster is not quite in the same league. Weet a Round won a modest maiden here but looks to have more than his share of weight.
