Mission Affirmed is the choice in this wide open classified event, The Gaikwar and Bright Sun look to be the best alternatives. Tom Tate's four-year-old scored on the all-weather at Southwell last time, coming home three lengths clear of Saros. He had some excellent form on the turf last season and is quite well in here on official ratings. The Gaikwar landed a similar race at Bath back in May and his since run with credit in handicaps. Back in this grade he should make his mark although his last victory did come off a seven pound lower rating. Bright Sun's recent second at Ayr has to be considered his best performance of the season and although dropping back in trip he should be involved in the finish. Persona is from a top yard and so has to be respected, but Mission Affirmed is lightly raced this season and so has more scope for improvement than most of these and gets our vote.
