The next race on the card looks to be an intriguing handicap with seven runners and hopefully CALDERCRUIX can go in ahead of Mercoliano and Bin Shamardal. The selection looks to on the improve as his latest victory showed. He won by two lengths in the end but the time of the race was quick considering they crawled for the first part of the race. A stronger pace today should see him in better light and with so many front runners in the field he should get it. Jamie Spencer is also a positive booking on the Tom Tate horse. Marco Botti's Mercoliano plainly didn't stay at Kempton on his latest effort and today's trip will suit better. He absolutely hacked up on his previous start before that flop and it's on that form we have assessed him. He rates a big dander to the selection if handling the switch to grass. Bin Shamardel won a messy race on his latest start but did it well in the end. Mark Johnston runs two and Understory appears to be the stables first string on jockey bookings but do not underestimate Cono Zur's debut run which sets the standard here. However, its Caldercruix and Spencer who get our vote.
