A tough claimer to contend with and Abbondanza and Vested Interest are respected but CAWDOR is the selection. The Lucinda Stubbs horse is put forward in the hope that Redcar gets some rain and continues to water to provide good safe ground as the son of Kyllachy is best with some cut. The change of stable has brought out some improvement for the former Henry Candy horse. He won his latest start very convincingly and is taken to follow up. The biggest danger may be the Dandy Nicholls trained Abbodanza who is not too bad in at the weights. This horse was rated as high as 108 last but was dropped 21 lbs for his 1-4 defeat at Lingfield two weeks ago. It's fair to say that his runs this year have not been as high as last but if he returns to form he could win this event easily, the market should be monitored closely with this horse. Vested Interest was a wide margin winner of a seller at Yarmouth but has not been since. The form of that race is not great but the manner of his victory was impressive and he was sold for 17,500 guineas. However, he has joined a yard that is not firing and we will return to Cawdor for the victory.
