Prairie Law has strong claims in this grade and gets the verdict ahead of Marcus Eille and Cream Of Esteem. The Ian Williams trained gelding ran no sort of race at Brighton last time, but had previously finished a close up third behind Arabian Moon at Windsor. If he decides to put in a similar effort he should be capable of beating the poor bunch. Marcus Eile is well in on official ratings and ran well last time when chasing home Alani over two miles. The drop in trip should not be a problem and he looks a threat to all. Cream Of Esteem was a beaten favourite in a selling handicap last time, but wasn't beaten far behind Whirling. The best outsider here could be Lord Mayfair, who has been taking on much better opposition than this. However Prairie Law has to be the pick on recent form.
