Log Out Island has been placed twice at Group 2 level lately and looks sure to be thereabouts eased in grade. Richard Hannon also runs the useful Orvar, winner of a Listed race in Turkey on his latest outing. Richard Fahey runs four with Mayfair Lady probably the pick at the weights. She won a competitive York nursery by five lengths in August and was then sent to Salisbury for a Group 3, where she may have found the ground too soft. Tim Easterby has landed this huge prize four times in the last 20 years and has a quintet of runners this year. STILL ON TOP made a winning debut at Pontefract and was then just touched in a valuable contest at York. He started favourite for a Listed race at Ripon last time but probably wasn't helped by a wide draw and could gain rich compensation here if getting the run of the race. Mr Lupton won a similar race to this at Doncaster last month but was behind the selection and Orvar at York earlier.
