Northern Games is at the top of his game and looks set to land the hat-trick from Cd Flyer and Imperial Echo. This is the strongest event to date for Kevin Ryan's gelding, but the way he destroyed big fields of experienced handicappers at Ayr and Catterick suggests he is well up the the task. Cd Flyer returned to somewhere near his best when chasing home Marshman at York last time and looks a good thing to get in the place money again. Imperial Echo beat Trojan Flight in a Ripon handicap back in August and wasn't disgraced next time when chasing home the much improved Eisteddfod and Solar Power in a valuable race at Haydock. Ground and trip will suit this one and he looks the main threat to the selection. Burley Flame and Flying Bantam both have recent winning form and should be in the shake up, but in this mood it is hard to go against Northern Games who is a solid choice.
