This is a competitive renewal of the biggest race of the year here, and Violette, Ba Foxtrot, Bonnie Prince Blue and Bow Bridge look to be the leading players and the vote is given to the first mentioned. The fact that Seb Sanders has decided to come to Redcar to ride Violette instead of riding the well-fancied Pedrillo in the Cambridgeshire, should be taken as a hint. Her stable continue in top form and from a good draw she is taken to win again. Ba Foxtrot rates as the main danger as he was a good fourth in a Group 2 race at Newbury last time behind Cool Creek. However, his stable have struggled to find winners recently and at the likely odds he looks worth taking on. Bonnie Prince Blue is one of the least-exposed runners in the field and he was a good winner when defeating Memphis Man last time at Windsor. However, that form has since been let down and unless there is strong market support it is probably worth opposing him. Bow Bridge would have a chance on her early season form but she has not progressed as expected. However, the return to this slightly softer surface should suit and she could be capable of a big run at a decent each-way price. Signor Peltro, Dhekraa and Crosby Hall are others to consider in what is an ultra-competitive race, but for the winner we are happy to return to the Sir Mark Prescott-trained Violette.
