In depth

Verdict

The veteran Unowhatimeanharry won the Champion Stayers' here in 2017 and two years later though has looked a shadow of his former self in recent handicaps. Capodanno stepped up to this trip with a cracking run in a Grade B handicap at Fairyhouse with Ragnar Lodbrok very close behind though now without the services of 7lb claimer Jordan Gainford, who rides the stable's Dallas Des Pictons. The latter was staying on at the finish of the Martin Pipe over 2m4f at Cheltenham though was behind former stable companion Floueur, who ran a superb race in third. Carrolls Cottage stayed on strongly over 2m5f at Limerick and is progressive as is Pure Genius, a very easy maiden winner over the track and trip and over 2m3f at Downpatrick last month. BEN DUNDEE, formerly with Willie Mullins, still looks capable of winning at a high level judging by his recent run at Naas after a year's absence and can land this under Derek O'Connor. The hat-trick seeking Max Flamingo looks certain to be suited by the extra after overcoming trouble in-running at Fairyhouse but Botani takes a big step up in trip from 7lb higher after scoring over 2m3f at Cork.
