Golan Lodge made a winning start in a Fairyhouse bumper in February and was probably in need of the run and experience on his hurdling debut at Listowel last month. He can do better but was a long way behind HOWS PATSY at Listowel and the latter, who did very well to finish runner-up to Grecian Tiger that day, can go one better. Ice Cold Soul made a successful debut between the flags then won two bumpers before a poor effort at Fairyhouse. That wasn't his form and the half-brother to several useful jumpers is one to note this season. Woodford Island made a reasonable hurdling debut at Cork last week after a long break but Bowenscourt made too many mistakes when runner-up at Gowran earlier this month, though that was his second start in three days. Too Many Notes has plenty of experience and has performed with credit over this trip so she's no forlorn hope in an interesting maiden.
