Verdict
The shortest price winner in the last nine renewals has been 10/1. Willie Mullins has won it twice in that period and Ceol Rua looks his best hope here despite his defeat in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse. An earlier Listed winner on soft ground, he may have found the going too quick last time. It's a surprise to see Snap Tie reappearing in a race like this as he hasn't been seen since making a winning debut over fences in October 2009. However, he was rated 160 when running in the Champion Hurdle that year and is on 137 here. Citizenship beat today's rival Leah Claire at Leopardstown and started favourite for the County Hurdle where a mistake at the second last put paid to his chances. He's on the short-list as is David Pipe's War Singer, a winner on heavy ground in France and making his handicap debut. GOD'S COUNTY is another who has won on ground with some give in France and this unexposed type looks ready to strike from his lowly mark with conditions in his favour for the first time in a year.
